Frustration!

So the fifth week of school is upon me. I'm currently registered for 12 credits, but it's supposed to be 14. I NEED 14 credits! Currently, I have 106 credits; amount needed to graduate: 120. Hence, 14 to go. Long before this semester started, actually long before I left for DC, I sat down with a professor whom I have taken classes from in the past and discussed the prospect of doing a directed readings course for 2 credit hours. We agreed to do it, even picking the three books that we would use and throwing around some ideas about a unifying theme. Well here it is, a quarter of the way through the semester and I still don't have a contract for directed readings, as such it is also not on my schedule, which, in turn, means I'm not getting credit for it! I have already read two of the three books, and am nearly 75% done with the last one. I try to stop by this professors office nearly everyday, so far I've caught up with him maybe 4 times...out of at least 15 attempts! I send emails when I don't catch him in the office...he doesn't reply. Needless to say, it appears that the outlook for me graduating this semester is not good at all. I hate school! I really don't want to be here this semester anyway, if I'm not graduating, I really don't have the necessary motivation to trudge through the next three months. The worst part is, I have no recourse because there is no signed contract verifying our arrangement for the directed readings course! I'm a moron!

I -might- be wrong, but OSU, or most other schools, do not let you enter their PhD program until fall semester anyway.

So you have time.

Time to take Econ class you have been putting off. You already had one? Then take a harder one ;-) Time to take that Calculus class that will look good on your record, plus prepare you for the rigors of the upcoming PhD program. Time to enroll in that internet-based WSU course that you can finish on your own schedule, etc., etc.

No, you are -not- a moron . . . things happen . . . seize the day!

No wait! You are applying for Fall 2009!!!!? Ah Oh. You don't have time. Hmm . . .

Department Head (Dr. H?), explain the situation, explain the urgency, ask for help . . . how can she refuse.

No I've decided against Fall 2009. I just need time...for whatever, basically. It's just the thought of being done, I'm burned out. Need time to recover, work, save money, travel, etc. Leave it to Weber State though, lol.
